If youre a HackerNews aficionado looking for the best experience on iOS, look no further.

I use it daily and Im very happy with how pretty and elegant it is.

Fast intuitive UI. Good combination to features without bloat. Well worth it.

I wanted 2 features: swipe to collapse threads and a dark theme. This app checked both those boxes.

Tried many apps for HN before, none remained for long. This one is truly a joy to use. Very well designed, fast and versatile. Love it!

Love this app. Simple to use, very responsive and navigation between posts is great.

No comments displayed as of this morning. This kind of thing has happened before: in a support conversation the developer told me it was because HN changed their markup, causing the developers scraper to break. Why dont you use the official API instead of some brittle HTML scraper?

This is a great app, or at least used to be, but comments are broken in the latest version.

Comments are broke. This is my favorite hacker news app when its working. Please consider using the official api instead of scraping so these sort of problems dont continue. I understand that the official api doesnt offer user authentication but other apps such as Hacker News (YC) still have both working comments and user authentication. So they seem to have figured out a way. Hopefully you can too. Previous review: Doh. Login doesnt work thus I cannot comment or upvote. If not for that this would be a 5 star app. iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.1.3 Previous review: This was a much needed update. It fixed all the bugs and added a few nice features such as landscape mode. Ive tried a bunch of hacker news apps and this is by far my favorite. Previous review: Doh. MiniHack no longer works. It just says deleted where each comment should be. Prior to that it was crashing frequently and upvoting/downvoting would always throw an error (despite actually working). I certainly hope these issues are resolved soon. This was my favorite HN reader. In the meantime, Hacker News by premii is a good replacement. My previous review: This is still my favorite HN reader but lately its been crashing a lot while trying to load articles. Im using an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.1.1. Also a feature request: landscape mode! My previous review: Everything I mentioned has been improved or added. Love it! And the review before that: I personally like the new themes a lot. I would like them better if you could compress the information into less vertical space but not if doing so meant a smaller font size. The only thing missing is the new "show HN" section but I cant deduct any stars for something added so recently. It would be nice to see in the next update though!

Best app for hacker new period. Developer listens to users and fixes problems when they arrive.

Although comments are currently broken, its because hacker news has changed their html. The developer is forced to use a scraper since the official hacker news API does not support user authentication. The developer responds promptly to feedback and has already submitted an update to fix comments, pending App Store review.

The comments are displayed again after the update.

Tried other Hacker News readers but found most to be either visually wanting or lacking in features. This seems to have all the features Im looking for, mainly Instapaper saving and collapsible comments. The interface is clean which is to my liking as well.

This is the fist app I install whenever I get a new phone.

Very clean interface for Hacker News. Auto night mode is a nice touch for late night tech news/discussion. One of the nicest developers youll encounter. Works great under iOS 9.

This is the only hacker news client I found that is well-polished, has account support to view your profile and comments, ability to upvote and reply to articles and comments and a dark mode. The HN apps I tried had some of then but not all. Some dont even let you comment on threads. Theyre just a viewer. This does it all and that to me, is worth $3. The only thing I could now ask for is push notification support when a user replies to your comment. Not sure if this would be possible but it would be great to have! Also, can you remove the slightly annoying notification when I downvote posts? Or add a setting? Currently if you want to downvote 3 posts, the app shows alert dialogs all three times. I know what Im doing, please remove the alert dialog. And maybe an apple watch app? ;)
